When I first visited Giverney.

When I visited the Garden of Monet, getting the train south from Paris to Giverney it was bright summer sunshine.Walking through the streets to the station was even an enjoyable passing of time-early as the shop keepers were just openning their wares. And the first secretaries , tradesmen and similar were making their way to work to fill the offices like humble bees and sheep.

The village was quiet and peaceful with few people, and the short bus ride to Monet's was again interesting. The house of the painter, now a cherished museum, looks the same as when he died.It has been kept perfectly and beginning early I was fortunate for awhile to have the place much to myself to explore and sense the presence of this man of colors.

Like many who visit,I took many photographs and enjoyed the abundant array of plants and colors in full bloom. The reds, the yellows , the blues, the vibrant greens.Watching the gardener has he busied himself.

Crossing through the underground road tunnel that divides the house from the lakes Monet created was like entering a peacful heaven of tranquility. The dragonflies in their vivid costumes were playing over the surface of the lake and the water lilies were in blossom, with reflections competing for attention. I rested some time on the famous wisteria bridge, thinking on life and it's meanings. And the silliness of the workers beavering their lives away in offices.

May I recommend visitors to view these informative and colourful sites -
